Knight Optical can offer you the solution for your CCTV Cameras!
CCTV Systems use Germanium Windows for their properties which make them ideal for thermal imaging and night vision use.
Germanium Material offers excellent transmission across the IR wavelength range. Making it ideal for use within Thermal Imaging Cameras; which are used extensively in CCTV applications.
Germanium typically operates in the 2µm to 14µm spectral range; that covers the LWIR (8-12μm) and MWIR (3-5μm) thermal imaging wavelength range.
Our Germanium windows are available from stock, custom size and shape with Anti-Reflection coatings on one or both sides, and/or with Hard Carbon Diamond coatings.
Custom coatings for Germanium windows available on you request and to your specific requirement with diameters up to 300mm diameters.

Knight Optical can offer transmit and receive windows and mirrors for LIDAR systems using visible, NIR (0.9 to 1.5µm) and Mid-Waveband Infra-Red (MWIR, 3 to 5µm) light. Since the 1960s, scientists have used LIDAR (light detection and ranging) to study the atmosphere. Short pulses of laser light are used to detect particles or gases in the atmosphere, like a radar bounces radio waves off rain drops in clouds. A telescope collects and measures reflected laser radiation, like a radar dish collects the radar signal, leading to a profile of the atmosphere's structure along the path of the laser beam. Researchers can then determine the location, distribution, and nature of atmospheric particles and molecular species using an advanced LIDAR method called the Differential Absorption Lidar (DIAL) technique.

When it comes to a high quality IR Cut filter, it is the substrate with the coating applied that affects the performance. Knight Optical provide high quality wafers for precisely this, and the surface quality of our substrates eliminates blotching at the sensor which occurs on lower quality substrates especially where IR Cut filters are concerned.
Our wafers are produced as thin as 500μm & provide exceptional surface quality. However, we can manufacture to a fully customised specification with a wafer thickness as little as 10 μm. Our substrates for stock or custom can be manufactured from a great deal of materials including:
•Quartz
•Borosilicate
•BK7 or equivalent
•Sapphire
•And many more.
Depending on your application for the IR Cut Filter, we can help advise on the best achievable optic for your application.

Knight Optical offer a range of Stock Sapphire Windows, and custom for use within Airborne LiDAR Systems. These are systems used in surveying for topographical measurements. The data accumulated can be used to generate a Digital Terrain Model or a Digital Elevation Model which are 3D representations of terrain.
Sapphire (Al2O3) is one of the hardest minerals and optical materials available for use in the range from UV up to 5µm. Making it ideal as a protective window for airborne systems which may be utilised in harsh environment or against birds!
Sapphire is grown by various methods from seed samples. Sapphire can be polished to a high standard, but as it is the second hardest mineral on Earth it must be subject to high forces to polish. Therefore, windows made from Sapphire must have a thickness to diameter ratio of at least 10:1, that is, greater

UVFS prisms for UV wavelength 170nm & other high index materials in VIS apps - These dispersing equilateral dispersing prisms have a very simple triangular cross section. Equilateral dispersion prisms are commonly used for wavelength separations, i.e. refracting white light into a rainbow pattern effect.
Depending on the material used equilateral dispersion prisms can be used over a wide range of wavelengths. We offer UV Fused silica prisms for use in the ultra-violet wavelength from 170nm and other high index materials which are used for visible applications. Antireflective coatings are applied to most of our high index grade of equilateral dispersion prisms as high index material is sceptical to staining and corrosion which anti-reflective coatings eliminate.
Antireflective coatings also help to improve output of the light as they prevent light loss due to surface reflection. The exit beam is in general at an angle to the input beam, this angle depending on the prism material, the wavelength and the incidence angle

Knight Optical’s Laser Optics range include Thin Film Polarisers which separate the s- and p-polarised light with negligible absorbance within the coating for low loss performance.
The laser thin film polarisers are optimised for 515nm and 1030nm design wavelengths, ideal for Ytterbium (Yb) doped lasers including diode-pumped solid-state lasers (DPSSL) and fiber lasers, as well as Nd:YAG lasers emitting at 1064nm.
Currently, we stock thin film polarisers which work at either 45° or at Brewster angle (55.4°), both of which have been coated using ion beam sputtered (IBS) technology, creating a compact and durable coating, with a LIDT suited for ultrafast laser applications.
Often used within a laser resonator to separate the different polarisation states and can be used as an alternative to polarising beamsplitter cubes or Glan-type polarising prisms.
The following are the tolerances for the laser polarisers:

Knight Optical can offer Lithium Fluoride Windows for use within UV Applications.
We supply a range of lithium fluoride windows for a range of applications. All individually QA checked &metrology tested for quality to ensure parts meet customer specification. Supplied in a range of sizes & shapes with custom coatings tailored to meet your individual applications.
Knight Optical supply precision optical components to customers using UV optics such as UV lasers. UV lasers are beneficial in some applications as opposed to longer wavelengths such as infrared or visible light as they do not heat the areas around the target. This allows the laser the cut materials by breaking atomic bonds, rather than melting the material.
Due to the large band gap for Lithium fluoride, it’s crystals are more transmittive to short wavelength UV radiation than any other material and are ideal for use in X-Ray monochromators, as for use in VUV, UV, Vis and IR spectrums.

Knight Optical can offer UV Fused Silica Lenses for Flame Detection Applications.
UV Fused Silica can be used in Flame Detection Applications, due to its high transmission into the NIR range (approximately <92% avg 400-2000nm) meaning that a clear distinction can be made between different wavelengths of light.
UV FS also has a very low coefficient of thermal expansion 0.55x10-6K-1 at 300K) compared to N-BK7 (7.1x10-6K-1), meaning that it can still provide optical performance under high temperature. UV FS also has a high melting point compared to N-BK7, providing further protection for your application in high temperature environments.
UV FS is comparable to N-BK7 or other similar optical glasses in its performance, having a very similar average transmission over the VIS range up to approximately 2000nm and a slightly lower refractive index. The Abbe constants of UV FS are also very similar to that of N-BK7, although slightly higher.

Knight Optical can offer you stock and custom mirrors Plane Mirrors (general, λ/1 and λ/4 for use in Spectromters, in a range of materials such as BK7 or equivalent, Quartz, UV Fused Silica and many more. These are customisable to size and coating depending on what you are trying to achieve.
All individually QA checked and metrology tested for quality to ensure parts meet customer specification. Supplied in a range of sizes and shapes with custom coatings tailored to meet your individual applications.
The mirrors help produce high quality signals and can be coated with a variety of coatings to ensure that the perfect quality image in the wavelength you require is achieved:
Plane mirrors are used to transmit the signal from the light source to the receiver in the spectrometer, the higher the specifications of the mirror the better the signal for it to produce a better transmission or reflection curve that it relatively to the sample.
